232 Toxic chemicals were found in the umbilical cord blood of newborns - raising the question - what are we exposing our babies to during pregnancy? This is the beginning of their incredibly important developmental stage. By the time they are born they are surrounded by harmful chemicals in the home and a large majority of childcare centres.

The scientific community is coming out with more and more evidence that confirms our cleaning products are damaging our bodies. We know that store bought cleaning products are dangerous and highly toxic - yet we are still using them in our homes, childcare centres and schools.

Most store bought cleaning products have caution labels “Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing, wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Avoid contact with food. Keep out of reach of children.” Not to mention we are breathing it all in! So we are warned but why then are we still using them? Cost? Effectiveness? Ease? Lack of knowledge about better alternatives?
It’s scary how often we expose ourselves to toxins or that we are allowing these chemicals into homes, childcare centres and schools where our childrens immune systems are at their most vulnerable. Our children require a strong immune system that allows them to fight germs regularly without the added attack of chemicals in their system.
Once we realize we can protect our families from chronic diseases by avoiding toxins, you’ll see that it would be worth the effort to avoid the poisons we are readily buying. This decision has to be made start right from the very beginning - in the family home and our childcare centres.
